In this easy step by step guide, we will go over everything you need to know about shipping packages with Poshmark Canada & Poshmark USA.

Shipping Packages with Poshmark

Congratulations on making your first sale! Now it’s time to ship, and shipping packages with Poshmark couldn’t be easier!

One of the best things about selling on Poshmark is their shipping process. Unlike other reselling platforms, you don’t have to calculate the shipping for each and every item, or purchase the shipping label yourself. Poshmark does it all for you!

Once you’ve made a sale, a prepaid, pre-addressed shipping label will immediately be emailed to you. The customer is charged for the shipping label, and Poshmark sends it to you automatically. All you have to do download it and print it off!

How to download your Poshmark shipping labels

Once you’ve made your first sale, there are 2 places you can download your Poshmark shipping label.

  1. Email: Poshmark will automatically send you a shipping label via email. You can download the label as a PDF from the email
  2. Poshmark on Desktop

You can access your sales and download the shipping label on your desktop through the Poshmark website. In the right hand corner click the menu down, look for ‘My Sales” and click.

All your sales will show up, click the one you want.

The shipping label will be available for download at the bottom of the screen.

Poshmark partnered with the United States Postal Service (USPS) to bring you PoshPost. The label, paid for by the buyer, is a USPS Priority Mail shipping label that covers a package of any size up to 5 lbs.

The current rate is $7.67, and as part of the deal, you can use any priority mail shipping supplies provided free from USPS! This is a huge perk and should definitely be taken advantage off.

This packaging can be picked up at many Post Offices (some locations they may be kept behind the counter so you’ll have to ask for them). You can also order supplies for free on USPS.com or on their free mobile app. If you are using the boxes they provide, be sure you are not shipping in the boxes that are labeled ‘Express,’ ‘Flat Rate,’ or ‘Regional Rate’ as they will causes delivery delays and/or additional shipping fees.

If you have your own boxes or padded envelopes lying around, you can use them to ship your sales. Be careful to cover or remove any old shipping labels, barcodes or addresses so that your package is properly delivered.

Each order is shipped using 1-3 day USPS Priority Mail.

You can also choose to offer discounted shipping to your customers. The options are:

The shipping discount will come out of your earnings/commission, so keep that in mind when sending out shipping discounts.

Coming Features:

Poshmark recently announced a major gamechanger for US Sellers. Currently, you need a printer to be able to print off your shipping labels.

Sellers in the U.S. will soon be able to take your package directly to USPS and show them a QR code, and they will print and ship it all in one go (goodbye printing labels yourself!).

Unfortunately this has only currently been announced for the USA. Hopefully this option will become available in Canada as well.

All shipping in Canada is through Canada Post. With Canada Post, you can purchase any Priority envelopes or boxes. Unfortunately for us Canadians, Canada Post does not offer free shipping supplies. Note: Poshmark shipping label does not support Xpresspost boxes

The standard shipping price provided by Poshmark in Canada is C$13.49 fee and GST/HST. The GST/HST rate on shipping is dependent on the buyer’s Province.  

You can ship packages up to 2.5LBS before you need a label upgrade. Each order is shipped using 1-3 day Canada Post Priority Mail.

Discounted shipping

There are 4 shipping options available on Poshmark that you can choose from when listing your item. Under the price section you’ll see a spot for discounted shipping. You can either choose to keep the standard shipping of $13.49, or automatically offer discounted shipping to your potential buyers.

$6.99 + GST/HST

When you choose the discounted shipping, the shipping discount comes from your profits.

Why discounted shipping?


If the shipping discounts come out of our profits, why would we want to offer that? The simple answer is to entice customers to purchase! Shipping costs are a major factor when customers are deciding whether to make a purchase or not. Offering discounts can help buyers make the decision to purchase.

Bonus Tip:

When Poshmark runs the “Closet Clear Out” promotion, you are able to offer discounts on items, and Poshmark foots the bill for discounted shipping for a limited time. So make sure to watch your Poshmark app alerts for these promotions. 

Shipping Bundles

The shipping fees apply to singular items as well as bundles! This is a great incentive for buyers to purchase more, and get more bang for their shipping buck. As long as the total weight of the package does not exceed the limits (5LB USA & 2.5KG Canada) customers can order multiple items and pay one shipping fee!

Shipping Overweight Packages

If your package is over the weight limit, no problem! You can still ship, you just need to upgrade your shipping label, and pay for the weight increase. Label upgrade costs will come out of the sellers commission.

To upgrade your shipping label from your desktop, access your sales in the upper right hand corner, click the menu and look for ‘My Sales’

From there, choose the order you want to upgrade. Scroll down past the blue ‘I Shipped It!” button, and underneath you’ll see a button for a new shipping label.

From there, choose the weight label you need. Poshmark will upgrade your label, send you a new one. The cost will come out of the commission of the sale. (Canada example below)

Upgrade your Poshmark shipping label right from the app.

  • Step 1: In the app, go to the My Sales section in your account tab and tap the order that needs a label upgrade.
  • Step 2: Tap Need New Shipping Label.
  • Step 3: Next, select Need Heavier Weight Label, then Please Select Weight, and input the new desired weight for your label. Any extra costs will be deducted from your earnings/credits.
  • Step 4: Lastly, tap Next, then Send New Label, and the new label will be sent to your email.

Note: you cannot print shipping labels from the app. Once you’ve upgraded the shipping label, you can access the label via email or on your desktop through Poshmark. (see above)

I recommend to purchase a scale to weigh your packages. Here is one similar to what I use:

Where Can I Print My Shipping Label?

If possible, I recommend picking up a regular inkjet printer. You don’t need an expensive one, you can usually pick one up from Walmart for $40. Just print the label on normal paper, then tape it to the package. I like to use clear packing tape, and cover the whole label.

If you want to get fancy, you can use a thermal label printer. Poshmark will have the file available to print with this type of printer.

If you don’t have a printer at home you can try the following places:

Friends/family, local library, supply like Fedex/Kinkos/Staples etc that offers printing services

Bonus tip: If you make several sales in one day, you can also print your labels in bulk by going into the “my sales” settings on the Poshmark website. 

Can I print my shipping label on adhesive labels?


Yes, shipping labels can be printed on adhesive labels. To select your shipping label format: 

In app

  1. Go to your Account Tab
  2. Select My Seller Tools
  3. Select Shipping Label Settings
  4. Select a page dimension

On web

  1. Select your profile picture at the top-right of the page
  2. Select Account Settings
  3. Select Shipping Label Settings
  4. Select a page dimension 

4’’x 6’’ (Adhesive Labels)
This paper size works for specific printers that allow printing on self-adhesive paper. Check your printer settings for compatibility. 

Examples: Dymo LabelWriter 4XL, Rollo Direct Thermal Printer, etc. 

8.5’’ x 11’ ’(Standard Printer Paper)
This paper size works for all standard printers.

Where To Ship

Your item is packed and the label is secured—now it’s finally time to ship your package. Here are 3 easy options:

  • Drop your package in a USPS or Canada Post mailbox, if the package fits.
  • Drop your package off at your local post office.
  • Schedule a pick-up online via USPS. Easy! If you’re in Canada, you can register as a small business (for free!) and schedule a pick-up for a small fee on the Canada Post site in most cities.

FAQS:

Can I sell to other countries?
No, at this time Poshmark does not currently offer cross-border shipping.

Troubleshooting:


What do I do if the address is wrong?
Contact the customer. It’s their responsibility to enter the correct address. Once the customer has fixed their address, Poshmark will issue you a new label.

What do I do If the package gets returned to me?
Reach out to the customer and let them know, then have them fix the address on their end. Once the address is updated, Poshmark will send you a new label and you can resend the package.
